Craft begins with a story: a friendship, an inspiration or a problem to solve. A handcrafted piece can become a lasting part of that story. Many Tidal Timber Crafts pieces can be personalised directly in the shop. Simply choose from the available designs, materials and personalisation options shown on each product page.
If you have something different in mind, I also offer bespoke commissions. This might involve adapting one of my existing designs, combining elements from different pieces, or creating something completely new around your own story, space or occasion.

Bespoke Commissions
Whether you are looking for a meaningful handcrafted gift, an adapted version of one of my existing designs, or a completely original piece, I would love to explore your ideas with you.
Every commission begins with a conversation. Together, we can explore the purpose of the piece, its materials and the design possibilities before agreeing the final design, price and timescale.
Chop & Swop
Sometimes the right starting point already exists in my shop. You might love the shape and purpose of one piece but prefer an animal, pattern or decorative detail from another.
Chop and Swop allows you to combine elements from existing Tidal Timber Crafts designs. For example, you might incorporate a Highland coo design into a coaster and placemat set, or add a mandala design to a keepsake box.
If your preferred combination is already available on the product page, you can order it directly through the shop. If it isn’t listed, contact me and I’ll confirm what is possible, along with the price and expected timescale.
Inlaying & Engraving
A name, meaningful date or short message can transform a handcrafted object into something deeply personal. Where personalisation is available as part of an existing product, you can select it directly on the product page.
For something more individual—such as a logo, original illustration, handwritten message or detailed decorative inlay—I can develop a bespoke design with you. Depending on the piece and the effect you would like to create, I can help you decide whether engraving or contrasting timber inlay would work best.
If the personalisation you want is not listed in the shop, contact me to discuss what is possible, along with any additional cost and timescale.
Bespoke Tableware
The natural character of timber means that no two serving pieces will ever be exactly alike. Where standard choices are available, you can select your preferred design, size or finish directly on the product page.
If you are looking for something different, I can create bespoke serving platters and tableware tailored to your ideas. Together, we can explore dimensions, locally sourced timber, epoxy colours, finishes, engraving and inlay to create a piece suited to your home or occasion.
Whether it is intended as a meaningful gift, a centrepiece for shared food or a distinctive addition to your own table, the design can be shaped around how you would like the piece to look and be used.
